The students at Cherrybrook Public School are looking forward to playing on new play equipment thanks to a Federal Government grant Julian Leeser MP has secured for the Cherrybrook Public School P&C.

In 2017, the play equipment was deemed unsafe and removed. Mr Leeser’s $10,000 contribution will go towards the funding of a new playgroun to be built where the old one stood. The play equipment will benefit not only students during school hours but will also benefit the After School Care program.

“What a privilege to attend the vibrant Multicultural Food Fair to present the cheque for $10,000 to the Cherrybrook Public School P&C. I am proud to have parents in our community who relentlessly pursue the best for our kids, and delighted to be able to contribute funds to the much anticipated new play equipment,” Mr Leeser said.

“As the husband of a Cherrybrook Public School old girl, I know what a great school this is.”

Sarah Churchill, the President of the Cherrybrook Public School P&C said, “Cherrybrook Public School has been without a playground for a number of years now due to safety concerns with the old playground.  The grant will enable us to install our new mega playground, it will be the best playground in the area. We are incredibly grateful for Julian’s support of our project.”

The $10,000 grant was provided by Mr Leeser as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, which allocates $150,000 to each electorate for projects that create vibrant and viable communities.
