Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra, has presented RSL LifeCare Rowland Village in Galston with a new Australian flag ahead of Australia Day.

Bob McKew, Vice Chairman of the Residents’ Facility at Rowland Village, wrote to Mr Leeser requesting a new flag to fly in the village due to the wear and tear of the previous flag.

Ahead of Australia Day this week, Mr Leeser visited Mr McKew and the other residents in Galston to personally deliver the flag.

“The Australian flag is a proud symbol of our great nation, and is especially significant to the men and women of Rowland Village who have served Australia throughout their lives,” Mr Leeser said.

“At the heart of Australia Day is a community celebration that acknowledges Australia is a country strengthened by the contribution of its citizens. I can think of no finer example of such service than that done by the men and women here in Galston.”

Mr McKew, who has a length family military history and a current son in the military, thanked Mr Leeser for the presentation.

“It’s great to have a new Australian flag to replace the old one with, especially at this time of year,” Mr McKew said.
