As the great-grandson of a Gallipoli ANZAC who also took part in the charge of the light horse at Beersheba and the grandson of a Changi POW who served on the Burma railway, I was pleased to speak in Canberra about the contribution of Australia’s Defence personnel.

The Australian Defence Force is one of the iconic institutions in our national life.

Australians salute and respect the ADF, its personnel and its veterans.
