Member for Berowra, Julian Leeser, recently visited Mount Kuring-Gai Public School to see how the school’s the new interactive whiteboard is being used by students and teachers.

Mount Kuring-Gai Public School received a Local Schools Community Fund grant, from the Coalition Government, to contribute to the purchase of a mobile computer-on-wheels interactive whiteboard in the library learning space.

Mr Leeser’s visit to the school inspired political creativity in the students as they used the interactive whiteboard to brainstorm ideas about mock Parliament this year. “It was fun to join the students as they thought about what they wanted mock Parliament could look like this year!”, said Mr Leeser.
“The students came up with so many great ideas, and I threw a few ideas of my own into the mix using their new interactive whiteboard. It’s great to see students with such a hunger to learn more about our parliamentary system in Australia.” remarked Mr Leeser.
The whiteboard, part funded through the Local Schools Community Fund, enables students to interact with the teaching staff using ipads in the classroom.

Over $9,000 was been contributed by the Coalition Government, allowing for this important information technology upgrade at Mount Kuring-Gai School.

“The Coalition Government recognises the important role that schools play in our community and that’s why we’re funding small projects that will make a big difference at our local schools,” Mr Leeser said.  “It’s great to be able to contribute to projects such as these through the Local Schools Community Fund to upgrade the tools our students can learn with.”

The funds are provided as part of the Local Schools Community Fund. For more information about the fund, visit https://www.education.gov.au/local-schools-community-fund
