Today I was pleased to help launch the 2021 Regional Telecommunications Review with Senator Bridget McKenzie. Many people from our community spoke to the committee about the telco challenges we face. The review takes up many of the issues raised in my private members bill like

👉 the need to improve telco resilience in flood and fire prone areas
👉 coverage should mean coverage
👉enhanced performance standards and penalties for telcos who fail to meet them with the ACCC making enforcement in the industry a priority
👉 better NBN with fixed wireless upgrades and increased minimum speeds.
👉 a technology agnostic USO.
👉 a place based approach to connectivity.
