Hawkesbury’s Heritage Highlights are a Fantastic Festival Feature
Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra, and Minister for the Environment and Energy Josh Frydenberg, are encouraging Hawkesbury residents to take part in the 2018 Australian Heritage Festival.
Julian Leeser MP recently showed Minister Frydenberg around Wisemans Ferry, showcasing the excellent historic sights on offer during the upcoming Australian Heritage Festival.
“Wisemans Ferry is home to the World Heritage listed Convict Trail, one of the major feats of Australia’s convict era,” Mr Leeser said.
“Be it the Convict Road Camp Site Tour, a guided tour of Devines Hill or a walk through Shepherds Gully – Wisemans Ferry will this year again be a premier destination for those wanting to explore our history and heritage.”
The 2018 Australian Heritage Festival runs from 18 April to 20 May and this year’s theme is ‘My Culture, My Story’.
The Festival is Australia’s biggest celebration of culture and heritage, and is supported through funding from Minister Frydenberg’s Trust Partnership Program.
In 2017 there were more than 1,000 different events held across Australia, attracting more than half a million visitors.
